The 23-page Problem Solving Assessment Pack includes two tests, a pretest and a posttest, designed to help you assess your students' math problem-solving abilities. The pretest data will enable you to determine where to begin with your problem-solving instruction; the posttest data will help you track their progress later. A unique feature of this test is that it requires students to draw pictures to show how they are solving the problems. You'll be amazed at what you can learn from those pictures! Administering this test will also help you differentiate instruction after you analyze the results. Bingo Icebreaker. FREE download. http://goo.gl/cpoBIa

My students wrote poems all about them! They became authors and illustrators for the second time this year!
Students had to follow steps to create a book cover. Then they decorated it to look like a real book cover.
We read Harry and the Terrible Whatzit. Then the students worked in pairs to draw their own Whatzit. Then they made a table with patterns. Such as, 1 Whatzit has 3 arms, 2 Whatzits have 6 arms, etc.
